Chris Cagle and Casey James gave a concert at Knucklehead’s Roadhouse this past Wednesday night. Cagle, who has been out of country music for the past three years, is making a comeback to his music career.
The duo came to Knucklehead’s Roadhouse as part of the radio station 106 Christmas party.
Releasing his first single since 2008 “Got My Country On,” the song has skyrocketed to no. 37 on the Billboard Country Charts. The single is one of the songs that will be released on his new album which he mentioned should be out sometime next year.
The concert started with Casey James, the American Idol winner, opening for Chris Cagle. He spent his time on stage playing songs that are going on his new album, due to come out in March. He played for roughly 50 minutes and in that time he managed to play 10 songs including, “She’s Money” and “Good Life”.
After James left the stage, Cagle went on and the crowd surged in. The first couple of minutes while he was onstage looked like a photo shoot with all the fans taking pictures with their cameras.
Cagle spent just as much time playing his songs as he did talking to the audience. He stopped in the middle of songs to congratulate some of his fans or to make a comment here or there. It wasn’t until his fifth song that he played his new hit “Got my Country On.”
Cagle wrapped up the night with some of his old classics such as “Chick’s Dig It” and “Beautiful Day.” Cagle and James made themselves available after the show to sign autographs and take pictures for the eager fans.
To say the least, Cagle did indeed “get his country on,” and his fans enjoyed every minute of it.
