Letter From the Editor

Readers of the Mace & Crown,

First off, Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching. The Mace & Crown is dedicating a full page in the Feb. 13 issue to print your valentine’s messages. Tell your significant other, friends, peers, teachers, clubs and organizations how much you care about them. Email a 50-word maximum message to advertising@maceandcrown.com by Feb. 8 at 5 p.m.

I want to thank all of the new writers and photographers who came to our Tuesday meeting. It was great to see such great participation on the school’s paper. Also, I was very pleased to see the massive interest in photography.

In addition, I would like to remind all student organizations that the Mace & Crown offers FREE space for you to advertise every event and meeting you hold. I hope, more organizations take advantage of this in the future. It is a great way to increase the reach of your announcements.

Jessica Starr, current copy editor, and Jimmy Long, current graphic designer, are looking for assistants. If you are interested in either position, please email editorinchief@maceandcrown.com. Copy assistants, are required to know basic grammar skills and knowledge of AP style is highly recommended. Graphic design assistants, must have a deep understanding of InDesign and a general knowledge of Adobe software.

The Mace & Crown meets every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. in the U-Center, located across from the Card Center in Webb. We welcome anyone who has a passion for reading, writing, editing, and photography. Join our Orgsync page for updates and meeting reminders.

If you wish to advertise with the Mace & Crown please contact James Porter at advertising@maceandcrown.com. He can supply information on advertising costs and the classified section.
