Two Arrested in Overnight Robbery at University Lot
Old Dominion police have arrested two suspects in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at 4 a.m. in a university parking lot on Jan. 9. The victims told police they were approached by two men brandishing handguns in a parking lot near Killam Avenue and 43rd Street who reportedly stole personal items from them. The victims reported no personal injuries.
The ODU police conducted an investigation which led them to the arrest of the two suspects. Antoine Royster Jr., 21, and Kahlia Jackson, 20, were both arrested and charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and two counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
In an email, Giovanna Genard, Acting Assistant Vice President for Marketing & Communications stated that “the suspects were located and detained by ODUPD within 10 minutes of receiving the report.”
Royster Jr. is a resident at Norfolk State University and Jackson is a resident of Portsmouth.
