Don't miss X Ambassadors at The NorVa

Don’t miss X Ambassadors at The NorVa

Lindsey Lanham | A&E Editor

Leading band, X Ambassadors, brings the heat to Norfolk for the 96X Winter Meltdown Series. Starting off the series on Nov. 28 at The NorVa, the rock group will be showcasing songs new and old.

My favorite songs to play live are usually the newest songs. When you’re on tour you’re playing the same songs every night and it’s always fun when there’s a new song to play.  It’s a new challenge and it’s exciting to see the crowd reaction to the new material,” drummer Adam Levin wrote in an email.

One of the biggest breakout bands of 2015, X Ambassadors might still be riding off the high of hit singles “Renegades” and “Unsteady,” but they’re also ready to be playing and releasing new music.

Made up of Levin, Sam Harris (lead vocalist), Casey Harris (keyboardist) and Noah Feldshuh (guitarist), the band has been putting out music for about eight years. With a couple of EPs and a full-length album under their belt, X Ambassadors have been gearing to release some new stuff.

“We’ve been releasing some singles over the past few months and you can definitely expect a new album next year.  It’s pretty much done, we’re just putting on all the finishing touches,” wrote Levin.

“Our writing has definitely evolved since writing our debut album, “VHS.”  I think we’ve all grown as musicians, songwriters and producers both in quality and efficiency.  We’re writing SO much more material in a shorter amount of time than we did for the first record and it just gives us more options to choose from.  It’s been an amazing experience thus far.  We can’t wait to share it with the world!” wrote Levin.

This won’t be the first time X Ambassadors make their stop in Norfolk either. 96X is the first station to ever play their music. “We are always excited to come back to Norfolk.  Norfolk and the surrounding areas really hold a special sentimental place in all of our hearts.  It was the first place we heard ourselves on the radio, and the first place where we sold out a show,” wrote Levin.

Indie rock band Imagine Dragons discovered the band after hearing their music on 96X. “Imagine Dragons is the best band and best group of people – EVER!  They helped us so much in the early days of being signed to the label, they took us on tour and taught us how to be professionals.  I really can’t say enough good things about them.  They’re amazing musicians, songwriters and people. We’re really lucky,” wrote Levin.

Be sure to catch X Ambassadors when they make their return later this month. A set that is guaranteed to be unforgettable, start your winter off right with this show.
