PC games to play with your friends

You’ve got your friends, and you’re ready to play a game together. The problem is you’ve already played all of the games you own together, and you’re looking for something new. Here are some games that you can play on the PC. Please note that these games are not all PC exclusive, but they are all available on the PC.



There are quite a few MOBAs out there for gamers to enjoy. These games can be played with friends, but they can also be played on your own. “League of Legends,” “Heroes of the Storm” and “Overwatch” are three examples that we’ll touch on here. A pro scene is available for each of these games. Not only do you get to play the games with your friends, you can also watch pros battle it out for a world championship each year.


League of Legends

“League of Legends” is a PC game designed by Riot. The game allows players to choose from several champions to play in a variety of roles. Players can choose to play on Summoner’s Rift or Howling Abyss for 5v5 matches or play on the Twisted Treeline for 3v3 matches, but the premise for each of the matches is the same regardless of the number of players. There are also rotating game modes that rotate with every patch. Ranked games are available as well. Players can earn capsules with each level up to earn in game content.


“League of Legends” is a free to play game, but extra content, like skins for your champions, can be purchased.


Heroes of the Storm

“Heroes of the Storm” is a PC game designed by Blizzard. Heroes in the game are pulled from Blizzard’s other games, like “Hearthstone” and “World of Warcraft.” Players can choose to play quick games, brawls or drafts. No two games are similar in “Heroes of the Storm,” but the loading screen gives you an overview of what to expect each match. The basic premise of each match remains the same no matter what though: get to the other team’s base and destroy it. A select few heroes are unlocked at the start, but additional heroes can be purchased using in game currency earned through playing the game. Each time you level up, you can earn a loot box that has exclusive content.


“Heroes of the Storm” is a free to play game. Additional content can be purchased as well.



“Overwatch” is also a PC game designed by Blizzard. Unlike “Heroes of the Storm,” characters in “Overwatch” have been created for the game, though they make their appearances in other Blizzard games as well. It is a first person shooter in which you play as one of 26 heroes in the game. All heroes are unlocked from the start, and there are a variety available to suit different play styles. Players can play quick games, in the arcade or play ranked games. With each level up, you can earn a loot box that has exclusive content.


The standard version of “Overwatch” is $39.99, and the Game of the Year edition is available for $59.99. The Game of the Year edition comes with 10 loot boxes, hero skins, Tracer in “Heroes of the Storm,” a baby Winston pet in “World of Warcraft,” Mercy’s wings in “Diablo III,” “StarCraft II” in game portraits and a card back in “Hearthstone.” Additional content is available for purchase.


“Duck Game”

“Duck Game” has you play a duck in a four man showdown to see who the last duck standing is. Players can use a variety of weapons to bring their duck to victory, including chainsaws, pistols and katanas. A single player arcade mode is also available for players to practice their skills and unlock new hats for their ducks.


“Duck Game” can be purchased for $12.99 through Steam.


“Castle Crashers”

“Castle Crashers” lets you play the role of a knight on a quest to save four princesses who have been stolen by a wizard. You’re also able to play as the characters you fight within the game once you unlock them, but several knights of different colors are available from the start. The game can also be played as a single player game.


“Castle Crashers” can be purchased for $14.99 through Steam.


“Golf with Your Friends”

“Golf with Your Friends” takes you through 18 holes on a variety of maps. Players can customize their ball by making it different colors and putting hats on it. You can play traditional games of golf or make things more exciting by having the balls be replaced with different shapes and objects. A mode where you have to get the ball through basketball hoops is also available.


“Golf with Your Friends” can be purchased for $5.99 through Steam. The game is currently in an early access beta.


“Tabletop Simulator”

“Tabletop Simulator” lets you bring the board games you know and love to your computer to play with your friends. Now you don’t have to gather your friends in one place because you can play from the comfort of your own home. There are games already available at purchase, but you can add mods through the Steam Workshop to play games not already available.


“Tabletop Simulator” can be purchased through Steam for $19.99.


These are only a few of the multiplayer games for PC that are out there. There are so many more games available for players to pick up and share with their friends. Whatever your choice is, you’ll be able to pick up one of these games and have some fun with your friends.
