About The Mace & Crown

Mace and Crown is a student-run news magazine written and published for the students of ODU. Originally founded in 1930 as The High Hat, the paper became The Mace and Crown in 1961 with the transition to a magazine in 2017. Mace and Crown is primarily a self-supporting magazine, maintaining journalistic independence from the university. All views expressed in this collegiate magazine are those of the author, not of the university, Mace and Crown or the editors.
