The ODU Fashion and Merchandising Department and the Governor’s School Arts’s Textile Department are coming together to host the first U-Nite exhibition at the Barry Arts Museum on Friday the 12th.

The two schools will be collaborating to host their first show with the theme, ‘Fashion and Design.’ It will be a night of both haute couture and local fashion. The theme is inspired by the Barry Art Museum’s featured exhibition, Karen LaMonte: Théâtre de la Mode.

The U-Nite event will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and in person at the Barry Arts Museum. The fashion show will be starting promptly at 6 p.m. This is the first of a series of events, as the museum plans to hold U-Nite on the second Friday of each month.

Barry Arts Museum’s social media will be teasing the fashion event all Friday on their Instagram @barryartsmuseum.

There will be music, snacks, and a cash bar where patrons can purchase alcoholic beverages.

The event is free and open to the public. Masks are required, in accordance with ODU policies, regardless of vaccination status Click here to find out more.
