On the morning of Nov. 8, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was hospitalized after falling in her office the previous evening, fracturing three ribs.

Justice Ginsburg returned to her home the night of her fall, but was admitted to George Washington University Hospital the next morning after experiencing “...discomfort overnight” according to a press release by the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court is not in session again until Nov. 26, and it is likely that Justice Ginsburg will return to work before it does.

Ginsburg suffered a similar fall in 2012, where she fractured two ribs. She returned to work the same day.

Justice Ginsburg returned to work hastily following a heart procedure in 2012, and has also survived two bouts of cancer. The Justice did not stay down long in either case.

The Supreme Court promised updates on Justice Ginsburg’s health as the situation develops.
