Mac Miller, a famous Pittsburgh rapper known for hit's such as “Best Day Ever” and “Self Care” was found unresponsive at is home on Friday afternoon in Southern California. He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
Miller, who died of a suspected drug overdose, had been vocal about his substance abuse in the past. Much of his personal life outside of his music came to light after his split from singer and actress Ariana Grande. Grande wrote on twitter following the breakup that, “I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety and prayed for his balance for years (and always will of course), but shaming/blaming women for a man's inability to keep his shit together is a very major problem."
TMZ reported a clip from an interview of Miller in 2012, where he said that "I'd rather be the corny white rapper than the drugged-out mess who can't even get out of his house. Overdosing is just not cool. You don't go down in history because you overdose. You just die."
