SGA Weekly Update: March 15
At their March 15th meeting, the Student Government Association discussed more eco-friendly takeout boxes for dining halls, among other matters.
Resolution 5 – Alternative Takeout Boxes and Resolution 6 – Eradicating Stryofoam from the Institution were both moved to second reading status.
The Wellness and Sustainability Committee recently met with Janet McLaughlin, resident district manager for dining services and Shannon Sauerwald, assistant director of Webb Center and they are both in favor of a new program that would reward students who recycle with flex points.
As arranged by Clara Hernandez, SGA Director of Transportation and Safety, students will have an opportunity to have an open dialogue with police officers over coffee at Borjo Coffeehouse on March 29th. A bike-a-thon will also be held on April 1st.
